BSO High School Open Rehearsals

High School Open RehearsalThe BSO's High School Open Rehearsals program offers students in grades 8-12 an opportunity to observe first-hand the rehearsal experience of a professional orchestra, building their relationship with and ownership of the BSO and orchestral music, and leaving the experience with a greater understanding of the professional rehearsal process.
High School Open Rehearsals include an opportunity for students to hear and view the conductor from the point of view of the orchestra through a special on-stage screen.

Tickets On Sale Now!
The day begins at 9:30am with a discussion about the music to be performed by a BSO musician. Speakers for the season's pre-rehearsal talks will be listed in the Fall.

This program involves a working rehearsal, and is thus highly recommended for students who have an appreciation and understanding of performance settings. Due to the nature of the opportunity, it is imperative that students are prepared to engage as observers in an attentive and respectful manner.

Please note: while High School Open Rehearsals are scheduled from 10:30am-1pm, the length of the rehearsal is at the conductor's discretion and may end before 1pm; rehearsed repertoire may not include all pieces listed for the rehearsal date. We ask that all high school groups include an adequate number of chaperones to ensure appropriate group conduct throughout the program experience.
