The Boston Symphony Orchestra Teen
Council is a year-long mentor and education program for high school

The diverse youth that make up
Teen Council receive arts access and training while developing
useful life skills. Through various projects, members reach out to
their peers, families and communities, and help others develop a

Mission
The Boston Symphony Orchestra Teen Council's (BSOTC) mission is to involve youth in the Boston Symphony Orchestra's education programs and community initiatives. Through hands-on participation and project-based learning, the BSOTC will empower teens to be lifelong arts advocates.
Teen council members will take an active leadership role in the BSO's education and community programs, including: Community Chamber Concerts, the Young Musicians Club, Youth and Family Concerts, and Winter Vacation at the BSO. Members will also plan their own community performances at local shelters and hospitals. The council will work closely with BSO musicians and staff members throughout the year.
The BSOTC is committed to developing youth excellence; fostering a life-long love of music; encouraging leadership, cooperation, and discipline; cultivating appreciation of music and the arts in the community; and collaborating with other arts organizations.
