For his final performance of the Tanglewood season, André Previn will be featured on piano in an intimate Ozawa Hall concert of jazz standards. With longtime collaborator David Finck on bass, Mr. Previn explores his early roots as a jazz pianist, which date to his teen years followed by work in the 1950’s with some of bebop’s reigning masters. His 1956 jazz version of the Broadway score My Fair Lady (with drummer Shelley Manne and bassist Leroy Vinegar) was the first jazz recording in history to sell one million copies. Mr. Previn’s jazz evenings have become a favorite festival event.
