About The 2008 Grand Tasting
The Classic is a summer dream. Tanglewood is the world's oldest summer music festival, the summer home to the Boston Symphony Orchestra. It is renowned for its natural beauty, and its world-class music. Each August, we converge on Tanglewood, and team up with the BSO to bring you great wine and food in the pastoral setting of the Berkshire Hills. The Classic is a summer dream for the discerning gastronomic pilgrim. The Classic offers an elegant slice of the Tanglewood experience. Attend the Grand Tasting in the Hawthorne Tent, while taking in the gorgeous panoramic views of the verdant Berkshire Hills. Sample wines from all over the world, rub shoulders with winemakers, and taste inspired food. Regional artisans will present a variety of food and 'wine inspired' art. Select restaurants will serve signature dishes to accompany the best efforts of our participating wineries.

Merrill assertively supports the concepts of kitchen gardening, seeking locally foraged and grown foods.
Brooke Vosika Four Season Hotel Boston In describing his culinary vision for Four Seasons Hotel Boston, Vosika credits his love for local, seasonal and artisanal products as the foundation for all of his menus. “The flavor of each ingredient – heirloom tomatoes from a local farm or walnuts from his own Berkshires orchard – is where it begins.”
Jeff Thompson Wheatleigh Jeff came to Wheatleigh four years ago as sous chef and was instrumental in helping Wheatleigh’s dining room earn the coveted AAA Five Diamond Award. In the fall of 2006, Jeff took over as Wheatleigh’s chef.
Matthew Gaudet Brasserie Jo Matthew Gaudet is the chef at Brasserie Jo at the Colonnade and honed his craft working in New York for such notable chefs as Kerry Heffernan of Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group, Jean George Vongerichten of Jean George's, Gabriel Kreuther, now running the kitchen at MOMA, and Marcus Samuelsson at Aquavit, before bringing his innovation and energy to Brasserie Jo.
Andy Husbands Tremont 647 Andy O.C. Husbands took an after-school job at a bakery and has never looked back. After a career as Executive Chef at Chris Schlesinger's nationally acclaimed East Coast Grill in Cambridge, MA, he opened his first restaurant, Tremont 647 in 1996, in Boston's South End neighborhood. He released his first cookbook, The Fearless Chef, in August of 2004.
Jeffrey Fournier 51 Lincoln In late 2006, when an opportunity presented itself for a space all his own where he could blend his creativity for art and food, Fournier could not resist. 51 Lincoln was born and as they say for all creative minds, the sky is the limit!
Sean Buchanan Stowe Mountain Lodge Sean Buchanan is Executive Chef of the Stowe Mountain Lodge. Buchanan's underlying passion and motivation for his cooking is attached to his philosophy that fresh, native ingredients produce the highest quality and most tasteful cuisine, and supporting local farmers is the responsibility of the entire food community.
Fuel For Your Car And Your Soul Tanglewood, Gulf Oil, and the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority are teaming up this summer for a special promotion at Gulf gas stations along the Massachusetts Turnpike between Boston and Tanglewood. For every $50 of gas purchased at participating Gulf gas stations, travelers can earn a free lawn ticket to Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The promotion will run June 30 through August 22. To redeem lawn passes, travelers need only to bring in their receipts to one of the eleven participating Gulf station stores along the Mass Pike. Each lawn pass permits one person to a regularly priced Shed or Ozawa Hall concert at Tanglewood. With the recent rise in gas prices, nearby residents can collect enough tickets to spend a cost-effective weekend enjoying the music at Tanglewood. The eleven gas stations participating in the promotion are located in Lee, Blandford, Ludlow, Charlton, and Natick eastbound, and in Lee, Blandford, Ludlow, Charlton, Westborough and Framingham westbound along the Mass Pike. The lawn tickets can be used for concerts between July 5 and August 24. Blackout dates include A Prairie Home Companion (June 28), James Taylor (July 3 and 4), Boston Pops (July 8 and July 26), August 3, Wilco (August 12), and the Jazz Festival (August 29, 30 and 31). Tanglewood, located in Lenox off exit 2 of the Mass Pike, hosts the summer Tanglewood Music Festival and attracts approximately 350,000 visitors annually. The Festival offers music from a wide range of musical forms and styles through performances by the BSO and Boston Pops, chamber music concerts, the annual Contemporary Music Festival, and performances by young musicians from the Tanglewood Music Center.
