Patrons with Disabilities
Accessible Seating
Accessible seats are available. Please note your specifications on the order form or by phone. For other concerns, please contact the Tanglewood Box Office at (617) 266-1492. Please note that balcony levels of Ozawa Hall are not accessible by elevator. Patrons who have difficulty climbing stairs will be seated on the orchestra level of the hall. If you require orchestra-level seating, please inform the box office when purchasing tickets so that you can be accommodated.
The Access Services Center
Patrons in need of alternate format materials and medical equipment will find them at the Access Services Center at the Main Gate. The center staff offers assistance on an as-needed basis.
Ticketing Assistance
There is a dedicated telephone line, 617-638-9431 or 617-266-1492 ext. 431, for disabled patrons who would like to purchase tickets to Tanglewood concerts, or who need information about disability services at Tanglewood. A ticketing staff member may assist you and your needs directly during regular business hours by calling the nubmer above. Messages may be left during off hours, and your call will be returned the next business day.
Telephones
Accessible telephones are available near the Main Gate. Please refer to the Tanglewood map for exact locations.
Restrooms
Restrooms accessible to the disabled are located throughout
the Tanglewood grounds at the Main Gate, near the Shed, near the
Tanglewood Manor House, and in the lower level of the
Fleischer Carraige House. All the facilities include specially
modified features.
Assistive Listening Devices
Assistive Listening Devices (portable FM receivers with earphones) are available in both the Koussevitzky Music Shed and Ozawa Hall. Please speak with a Tanglewood usher for more information.
Service Animals
Service animals trained to assist the disabled are welcome at Tanglewood. Patrons should contact Access Services in advance of the performance date to ensure that adequate space is provided for their animals. Access Services: (617) 638-9431 or (617) 266-1492 ext. 431; or (TDD/TTY) (617) 638-9289.
Pedestrian Walkways
There are a limited number of gravel pathways around the Main Gate,
the Koussevitzky Music Shed, and Ozawa Hall. If you need assistance
navigating these pathways, please stop at the Access Service Center at
the Main Gate and a trained staff member will be happy to help you.

Wheelchair accessible seating is available at all price levels inside the Koussevitzky Music Shed and Seiji Ozawa Hall. Accommodations should be made in advance whenever possible by calling Access Services. Accessible seats may also be purchased the day of the concert at the Tanglewood Box Office. Parking
There are more than 175 parking spaces allotted for patrons with disabilities
in the Main Gate lot, as well as in each smaller lot. Wheelchairs are
available at the gate for patrons who may need assistance going to the
performance halls. Patrons may speak with gate attendants for assistance.
Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are available for patrons who need assistance getting from
gates to the performance spaces. Patrons may ask gate attendants to assist
them in obtaining wheelchair assistance to their seats.
Braille and Large Print Programs
Braille and Large Print programs are available by advance request only. To request a Braille or Large Print program for a concert at Tanglewood, patrons should contact Megan Sullivan in the Access Services at least one week in advance of their concert date. Elevators
There is no elevator in Seiji Ozawa Hall. Patrons who have difficulty
with stairs should try to purchase their tickets on the floor level.
Drinking Fountains
Accessible drinking fountains are located throughout the
Tanglewood grounds.
Shuttle Service
On Prelude Concert evenings, shuttle service is available to
transport patrons who atended the Prelude concert from
Seiji Ozawa Hall to the Koussevitsky Music Shed. The shuttle
runs from the Ozawa Hall Gate to the Main Gate.
Smoking
In consideration of our patrons, Tanglewood will offer a smoke-free
environment. We ask that you refrain from smoking while on Tanglewood
grounds.
