The TMC offers a unique opportunity for an emerging professional orchestra librarian of exceptional potential to study as a Fellow at Tanglewood.
Under the guidance of the BSO Principal Librarian, Marshall Burlingame, and the TMC Orchestra Librarians, the Orchestra Library Fellow will work with some of the world's most important conductors (which in 2012 includes, Stefan Asbury, and Rafael Frübeck de Burgos), preparing materials for the TMCO and for conducting and instrumental classes. They will also attend seminars on music acquisition and preparation, and may occasionally be asked to help with music preparation for BSO performances at Tanglewood.
The Library Fellow spends most of their day working in the TMC Orchestra Library inside Ozawa Hall, or attending rehearsals and performances in Ozawa, the Theatre, the Shed, and elsewhere as the library representative. When not fulfilling the responsibilities of the Fellowship, the Fellow has the opportunity to attend all TMC and BSO concerts, as well as many of the rehearsals and master-classes of other fellowship programs. The TMC Orchestra Library Fellow resides at Miss Hall's School with the other TMC Fellows.
Please check back in October 2012 for the 2013 Fellowship Application Process.
