BSO in Residence (BSOIR), launched in 2017, is a program designed to deepen connections with its local communities, starting with Jamaica Plain (JP). In this three-year pilot program, the BSO and the JP neighborhood are co-designing performances, projects, and events. BSOIR’s first year reached 8,500 attendees through more than a dozen performances and events, and created new ways for a diverse community to connect with the BSO. Please help support and expand this successful community engagement initiative!

Fund school ensemble coaching and performances, with BSO Germeshausen Youth and Family Concerts Conductor Thomas Wilkins, and JP Public School visits featuring BSO brass, string, woodwind, and percussion ensembles.

Sponsor a trip to Tanglewood for 150 JP families, including a concert, transportation, lunch reception, and interaction with Tanglewood Music Center Fellows.

Sponsor a Thriller Flash Mob at Halloween, with BSO musicians in collaboration with JP-based Hoopla Productions, to create public Thriller dance classes, and multiple performances.
