John Ferrillo joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra as principal oboe at the start of the 2001 Tanglewood season, having appeared with the orchestra several times as a guest performer in previous seasons.

Mark McEwen

BSO: James and Tina Collias chair

A native of Saskatoon, Canada, and a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, Mark McEwen joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra oboe section in September 1996, having previously served as principal oboe of the Florida Orchestra, Music Festival of Taipei and Orchester Staatsbad Meinberg in Germany.

Farla and Harvey Chet Krentzman chair, endowed in perpetuity

Keisuke Wakao was appointed assistant principal oboe of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and principal oboe of the Boston Pops Orchestra in the fall of 1990. He was previously a member of the New World Symphony from its 1988 inaugural season.

Robert Sheena

Robert Sheena has been the English horn player of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops Orchestra since 1994, during which time his uniquely vocal style of playing has garnered accolades from audience members and the media alike.
