At the direction of the Tanglewood Parking Coordinator and working in collaboration with facilities staff, traffic officers and public safety service providers, direct arriving patrons to available parking spaces prior to and during events and assist with post-event vehicle egress from Tanglewood parking lots per Tanglewood facilities practices and protocols. Operate jitneys transporting patrons to and from public gates and parking lots as directed. Provide assistance to patrons in need of directions to the concert venue on the grounds. Must be friendly, personable, a team player and able to stand for long periods of time. Required to work days, nights and weekends throughout the summer. Work begins in the middle of June through Labor Day weekend. Must be 16 years of age or older. Appropriate attire required.
Coordinator, Off-Campus Housing at Tanglewood
The Coordinator of Off-Campus Housing at Tanglewood will investigate and secure 40 to 50 properties for Tanglewood Music Center (TMC) faculty, guest artists, Tanglewood Music Center, Tanglewood Learning Institute and Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) staff, fellows and other departments for the summer season.
Visitor Center Representative
S/he will answer questions regarding all details of Tanglewood both on the phone and in-person (walk-ins). Responsibilities include managing the Lost and Found, disseminating information, and providing general customer service. Applicants must have an awareness of all the amenities of Tanglewoods grounds and programs; this will involve studying and having a working knowledge of all of the events, rehearsals, talks, tours, etc. available to the public as well as those available to staff and faculty only. Visitor Center Representatives will work closely with the Guide staff to be sure that all information available to patrons is 100% correct and coordinated and that customer service remains at the highest level. Knowledge of music is extremely helpful. Foreign languages are a plus. Required to attend customer service training and orientation meetings. Must be motivated, responsible and punctual. This is a part-time position, but applicants must be available for evening shifts during concerts.
Sr. Grounds Crew
We have an opportunity to be a key member of our landscaping and grounds crews at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA. You will perform various types of physical labor for the purpose of maintaining the grounds.
Grounds Crew - Summer Seasonal
Perform general maintenance of buildings and grounds, with collaboration of other Tanglewood Crew Members. Able to operate heavy equipment (lawn mowers, tractors, etc). Must be 18 years old. Dates of Employment: June thru August. HOUSING NOT PROVIDED.
Copland Library Assistant
This position supports the Head Librarian in Copland Library. The Copland Library is the main source of materials on campus for chamber music, study materials, all music resource books and recordings. Students and faculty of the Tanglewood Music Center (TMC) and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI) have use of the Copland Library. It is one of 3 music libraries on the Tanglewood Grounds, along with the TMC Orchestra Library at Ozawa Hall and the BSO Orchestra Library in the Shed. Assistant Dormitory Supervisor
Work as part of residential life team to assure the smooth day-to-day operations of dormitory office, and that needs of residents and TMC management are met in a timely and professional manner. Serve as additional liaison between TMC management, faculty, and students regarding residential issues. Requires residence in the dormitory, Miss Hall’s School (MHS), for the full session.
Printed Program Coordinator - Tanglewood
Responsible for the creation and distribution of printed programs for the majority of TMC concerts, as well as any required ancillary materials such as inserts and program annotation where applicable. Requires residency in the Berkshires during dates of employment. Housing to be provided.
TMC Personnel Manager
The Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra (TMCO) Personnel Manager serves as the principal point of contact for all fellows in the TMCO. This position assists the Manager of Student Affairs in the management of the TMCO and supervises the orchestra directly, coordinating with conductors, faculty, guest artists, and stage crew to ensure on amazing experience for every fellow. The focus of this position is to assist the Development Special Events department with basic administrative tasks as well as assistance in the production of various events.
