End of Fiscal Year Giving
2019 END OF FISCAL YEAR GIVING INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for considering a gift to the Boston Symphony, Boston Pops, or Tanglewood as part of your contributions. The BSO’s 2019 fiscal year ends August 31. Depending on the type of gift and the method of its delivery, the due date to count toward the BSO’s 2019 fiscal year will differ.
CREDIT CARD GIFTS ONLINE
To make a credit card gift online, visit www.bso.org/contribute. All credit card gifts must be submitted by 11:59pm on August 31, 2019 to count toward the BSO’s 2019 fiscal year. Online credit card gifts are processed at the time that the gift is submitted.
CREDIT CARD GIFTS BY PHONE
To make a credit card gift by phone, please call the Friends Office at 617-638-9276. The Friends Office is open Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Credit card gifts made over the phone must be processed by 4pm on Friday, August 30 to count toward the BSO’s 2019 fiscal year. Otherwise, you can make your credit card gift online through 11:59pm on August 31.

CASH GIFTS BY ELECTRONIC TRANSFER
For electronic transfer gifts of cash, please contact Jim P. Daley, Accounting Manager, at 617-638-9221 or email@example.com(email is preferred method of communication) for instructions.
All gifts of cash by electronic transfer must be received by the BSO by Friday, August 30 to count toward the BSO’s 2019 fiscal year.
Are you looking for a tax-effective way to make a gift to the BSO? A charitable gift rollover from your Individual retirement account (IRA) may be your best option.
The IRA Charitable Rollover Act permits people age 70½ or older to make tax-free gifts of up to $100,000 directly from their IRAs to nonprofit organizations like the BSO. You can count the gift as part of your minimum distribution for 2019.
