Tanglewood for Kids - Week 5

Welcome to Tanglewood for Kids!

Each Sunday afternoon, we invite kids and their families to enjoy the sights and sounds of Tanglewood from the comfort of home. To make the experience even more fun, we’ve included activities, crafts, recipes and videos – all created just for you! – that you can explore while you’re listening to the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

This week, you can learn more about composers Hector Berlioz, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Randall Thompson, a composer who wrote a very special piece for Tanglewood, through games and reading. You can also make your very own handprint violin, create a delicious dessert with a recipe from our friends at Creative Gourmet, and hear beloved children’s author Jan Brett, read “Berlioz the Bear” with the ORIGINAL Berlioz Bear, her husband and BSO bassist Joseph Hearn!

Here’s a list of materials that you might want to collect before Sunday, depending on the activity that you choose:

Handprint Violin
