Tours of Tanglewood

Tours of Tanglewood

Tanglewood grounds are open to the general public from 8:30am–3:30pm during the off-season. A map can be found here and a Self-Guided Tour brochure can be found here.

The Boston Symphony Association of Volunteers offers free one-hour walking tours of the Tanglewood campus. Experienced volunteer guides discuss the historical background of Tanglewood while visiting various sites on campus. Tours begin at the Visitor Center from July 5 through August 23; free public walk-up tours take place when the grounds are open each Tuesday at 1:30pm, Wednesday at 10:30am, Saturday at 1:30pm, and Sunday at 12:30 pm (Sunday tours open to ticket-holders only). Reservations are not required and schedule subject to change. Wednesday tours can accomodate persons with mobility issues. Additional tours will be held before Popular Artist concerts. In the event of incliment weather, tours will meet informally under cover. Private group tours for a minimum of 25 people may be arranged (at least two weeks in advance) for a fee. For more information or to reserve a mobility issue spot, call the Office of Volunteer Services at 413-637-5393 or email bsav@bso.org
