In Alisa Weilerstein’s groundbreaking, multi-year performance series FRAGMENTS, new music by compelling composers of our time meets the timeless beauty of Bach’s Six Solo Cello Suites in an immersive, multi-sensory experience. Within each FRAGMENT, movements from a single Bach suite are integrated with new commissions to make an original emotional arc. Enhanced by lighting and scenic architecture, the music is performed without pauses or printed program details, creating an atmosphere of enchantment, adventure, and discovery reimagining traditional classical concert conventions.
