Tanglewood Music Center Returns to On-Campus Mentorship

The Tanglewood Music Center, the BSO’s academy for advanced musical study, returned to in-person mentorship and performance in 2021 (including the above excerpt from Beethoven's Leonore Overture No. 2). The program welcomed a class of 61 Fellows back to campus, including members of the 2020 class who had participated online the previous year. Collaboration between the TMC’s distinguished faculty and the Fellows is a hallmark of the program, so returning to work in the same place was a welcome factor in the summer, especially back on the beautiful Tanglewood grounds. "I could not have imagined a better summer,” said 2021 Fellow Carolyn Semes. “The opportunities to learn and hear such incredible music are unparalleled in any experience I have ever had. Tanglewood is always described as a magical place and I could not quite understand this until experiencing it myself. It is indeed magical."
