Yo-Yo Ma and Renaud Capuçon perform Brahms and Fauré

Yo-Yo Ma joins the BSO in an expression of gratitude for the friends that have helped us transcend our darkest moments, an offering of love and wisdom in this time of fragmentation. This evening is also a tribute to France, the place of Ma’s birth, the source of inspiration for many of our democratic ideas, and an important ally and cultural touchstone at the time of the Declaration of Independence. In addition to Ma, the orchestra will be joined by conductor Samy Rachid, violinist Renaud Capuçon, and the Berkshire Lyric Chorus led by Jack Brown, performing Fauré’s Cantique, Brahms’ Sextet in G (a celebration of nature and love), and the Brahms Double Concerto, a musical gift of reconciliation.
