68th Annual Massachusetts Music Educators’ Association All-State Concert

Symphony Hall

Symphony Hall, Boston, MA

The 68th Annual Massachusetts All-State Concert features more than 500 of the Commonwealth’s most dedicated up-and-coming musicians in chorus, orchestra, concert band, and jazz. Sponsored by the Massachusetts Music Education Association, a federated state unit of the 75,000-member National Association for Music Education, the annual all-state concert offers talented high school students the opportunity to rehearse and perform under the direction of nationally recognized conductors, this year featuring: Arianne Abela, chorus; Ayn Inserto, jazz band; Charles Peltz, concert band; Jonathan Page, orchestra. Some 1,000 students audition each year, and only about 500 are accepted. After an intensive rehearsal process, the students celebrate their hard work and achievement with this exciting performance at Boston Symphony Hall. The varied program offers an array of composers, including Brandon Williams (choral), Toshiko Akiyoshi (jazz), Ives and Copland (concert band), Shostakovich (orchestra), and many others from traditional to contemporary. Please join us in celebrating Massachusetts’ best and brightest young artists!
