About Symphony Hall

Home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops, Symphony Hall has delighted audiences with world-renowned acoustics since its construction in 1900. This National Historic Landmark is also a popular event space, having hosted everything from weddings, to comedy shows, to squash tournaments.

The History of Symphony Hall

Symphony Hall opened on October 15, 1900, with an inaugural gala led by music director Wilhelm Gericke.

About the BSO

Led by Music Director Andris Nelsons since 2014, the Boston Symphony Orchestra gave its inaugural concert in 1881. Today the BSO reaches millions of listeners through not only our concert performances in Boston and at Tanglewood, but also via streaming on BSO NOW, educational and community programs, radio, television, recordings, and tours.
