TLI Presents: Lam Dance Work—Resonance

Lam Dance Works returns to Tanglewood for an intimate evening where dance, live music, and the human voice come together to illuminate memory, identity, and our shared humanity. The program will opens with a musical prelude, followed by three distinctive works from internationally celebrated choreographers: Peggy Baker’s Night Sky, inspired by the night sky as “a map of time;” Jorma Elo’s Solo Prelude, a deeply personal work created for John Lam and shaped by their more than twenty-year artistic relationship; and Yury Yanowsky’s Subject 41, accompanied by a soprano in a compelling dialogue between voice and movement. 

Before each work, Founder and Artistic Director John Lam will offer insights into each piece’s history, creative process, and artistic significance, inviting audiences more deeply into the stories behind the movement. Following the performance will be a conversation with the audience featuring all participating dancers and musicians, creating an intimate opportunity to connect directly with the artists and experience the ideas, relationships, and inspiration that bring each work to life. 

During November and the first half of December, TLI concerts will serve as a drop-off location for this year’s U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program in coordination with the Massachusetts State Police. Guests are asked to please bring a new, unwrapped, non-violent toy to drop in the collection boxes located in the Linde Center lobby.
