Parading to Tanglewood: A Gathering at Hancock Shaker Village
Parading to Tanglewood: A Gathering at Hancock Shaker Village
Fellows of the Tanglewood Music Center help mark the 200th anniversary of the Round Stone Barn at Hancock Shaker Village, one of the region’s cultural landmarks, as part of the Village’s free Community Day. Bringing together musicians from across the Berkshires, the day features performances, games and crafts for kids, tours of the historic buildings, visits with the farm animals, food trucks, fresh cider doughnuts, and more!
“To hear music in Hancock Shaker Village’s Round Stone Barn is to step into the flow of time. America has always been an experiment, led often by people's desire to reach an ideal world. The Shaker Village allows us to experience the beauty of one such experiment, and its tradition of music, making, building, and cultivating.” — Yo-Yo Ma
