A Message from Mary Jane White

Chair, Tanglewood Business Partners Advisory Council

Tanglewood and the Berkshires. The Berkshires and Tanglewood. Sounds wonderful either way, and both are better for it!

The Boston Symphony Orchestra hosts America’s premier summer music festival here, and Berkshire County is helped immeasurably by the economic power of the BSO’s magnificent 526-acre summer home.

Real estate, restaurants, retail—businesses and professionals of every description reap the benefits of Tanglewood’s patrons and visitors to the tune of more than $100 million annually, according the most recent economic impact study by Williams College economist Stephen Sheppard.

With the launch of the Tanglewood Learning Institute and the promise of Fall, Winter, and Spring programming, this boon to the Berkshire economy will continue to grow.

Tanglewood Business Partners are critical to the Berkshire County – BSO relationship. Ticket revenue covers less than half of Tanglewood’s operating expenses, and our annual membership contributions make a crucial difference. Our members comprise a community of business and professional leaders who champion the Berkshire’s cultural riches while working together to foster local economic well-being.

The health of Tanglewood and the Berkshires are inextricably linked. Please do your part and join us again, or anew, and align your business with the Berkshire’s premier cultural brand and destination.
