Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra conducted by Benjamin Zander, performs Elgar’s Cello Concerto with 2019 International Tchaikovsky Competition Gold Medal-winner Zlatomir Fung. To open, Ravel’s dramatic deconstruction of the Viennese Waltz, La Valse. To close, Shostakovich’s 5th Symphony, regarded as music’s symbol of the power of the artist to raise his voice in protest in even the darkest of times.
