Program Notes & Works
Tumblebird Contrails
Energetic, intricate, colorful, grooving and chaotic, Gabriella Smith's Tumblebird Contrails evokes the ecstasy of our place in the natural world.
Sibelius - Violin Concerto
In no violin concerto is the soloist’s first note—delicately dissonant and off the beat—so beautiful.
Symphony No. 5
Sibelius led the premiere of his protean, triumphant Symphony No. 5 in 1915 and, despite public success, twice withdrew and revised it before premiering the final version in 1919.
