A Conversation with Andris Nelsons
Boston Symphony Orchestra
Harvard University, John Knowles Paine Concert Hall - Cambridge, MA
On Tuesday, April 11, the BSO's Ray and Maria Strata Music Director Andris Nelsons will be the featured guest at an event at Harvard University, in Paine Hall.
At 6:30, Maestro Nelsons will be joined by the BSO's Eunice and Julian Cohen Managing Director Mark Volpe, and William I. Bernell Artistic Administrator and Director of Tanglewood Anthony Fogg, for what Harvard describes as a "far-ranging discussion moderated by Harvard's James Edward Ditson Professor of Music Anne Shreffler (panel will also include Federico Cortese, Senior Lecturer on Music and Director of the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra). Topics may include-but are not limited to-current goals and initiatives for the orchestra; developing new audiences for classical, modern and contemporary music; curatorial considerations in shaping a season's repertoire; connecting with Boston's broader arts community; and more. The goal is to give a broader audience of Harvard students a sense of the BSO's history and legacy, while considering the future of the institution and its influence on the world's musical stage."
The 6:30 panel is free and open to the public.
