Individual Giving Officer

The Individual Giving Officer (IGO) reports to the Director of Individual Giving and works closely with the Associate Director of Individual Giving – Annual Funds, Manager – Friends Program and Director Fundraising, and Director of Development Research and Information Systems to discover, verify, and engage a prospect pool at the Society giving level ($3,000 and more) for multiple fundraising efforts in support of the orchestra’s endowment, capital, special projects, and operating goals. The current unqualified pool is 200,000 households, with 75-100 being placed in this IGO’s portfolio. Additionally and to complete this IGO’s portfolio, s/he will solicit and steward 75-100 currently qualified and verified individual donor households.

Individual Giving Coordinator, Annual Funds

 This position is responsible for coordinating and assisting with the efforts of the annual funds program—encompassing 14,000+ donors to the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, and Tanglewood Annual Funds—to maintain donor records and relationships to assist in achieving the annual fundraising and retention goals. The position reports to the Manager of Direct Fundraising and Friends Membership

Assistant Director of Development Research

The Assistant Director will work with the Director in the active management and planning of the Development Research program as the BSO engages in multiple fundraising efforts that will support ambitious strategic goals and strength the organization’s long-term financial capitalization. S/he will work closely with colleagues and board members to identify and qualify new prospects, as well as determine individual strategies which will help ensure that the orchestra’s present endowment, capital, and special project funding priorities are met.

Senior Publicist

You will work with the Director of Public Relations with key aspects of the operation, including managing press distribution and library of photo and video; dissemination of listings and photos for press placements; and research, cataloguing, and dissemination of all institutional press coverage; as well as writing and editing press materials; planning and implementation of press coverage for Boston Pops tour concerts; coordinating social media and new media efforts in collaboration with Marketing; and pitching features, reviews, and interviews to online and local print outlets

Assistant Director of Donor Relations

The Assistant Director of Donor Relations will help lead the strategic planning, coordination, and implementation of a donor-centric stewardship plan to assist the Development Department reach its financial and non-financial goals.
