Hadelich and frequent recital partner Orion Weiss traverse American musical landscapes of the past and present. The program ranges from the early 20th-century New England of Amy Beach and Charles Ives to the contemporary hip-hop and rock-influenced music of Daniel Bernard Roumain and BSO Composer Chair Carlos Simon. Central to the program is former New Englander and longtime Californian John Adams’ Road Movies, a piece evoking that most American of pastimes, the road trip.
