Albert Sergio Laguna is Associate Professor of Ethnicity, Race & Migration and American Studies at Yale University, where he specializes in transnational Latino literatures and cultures, comparative ethnic studies, performance studies, and popular culture. Laguna's scholarship has been published in leading academic journals including Latino Studies, Latin American Research Review, Contemporary Literature, and Cultural Critique, while his public-facing work has reached broader audiences through New York Times, Washington Post, Miami Herald, and CNN.com. His award-winning research and teaching has been recognized both within Yale and by national academic organizations. Laguna’s first book, Diversión: Play and Popular Culture in Cuban America, was published by New York University Press in 2017.
