Alex Rigopulos
About
After graduating from the MIT Media Lab in 1995, Alex Rigopulos co-founded Harmonix Music Systems, Inc., best known as the creator of Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Dance Central, and several other hit music game franchises. In 2021, Harmonix was acquired by Epic Games, makers of Fortnite; the former Harmonix team now develops music experiences inside of the Fortnite ecosystem, including Fortnite Festival and the Daft Punk Experience. Alex is now creative-directing an interactive music experience for Netflix Games that will launch alongside a major theatrical film release in 2027. Alex served on the board of the Berklee College of Music for 9 years and is currently a board member of the Big Ears Festival.
