Anna Huang
About
Anna Huang is the Robert N. Noyce Career Development Associate Professor at MIT in Music and Theater Arts (MTA) and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). She directs the Human-AI Resonance (hai-res) research group at CSAIL, rethinking generative AI through the lens of social multi-agent systems and through longitudinal co-design processes with musicians and artists in a range of creative practices. She joined MIT in Fall 2024 to help start a new graduate program in Music Technology and Computation. For the past decade, she has been part of the Magenta team in Google Brain and then Google DeepMind, spearheading efforts in generative modeling, reinforcement learning, and human-computer interaction. She holds a dual bachelor’s degree in music composition and computer science from the University of Southern California, a master’s from the MIT Media Lab, a PhD from Harvard University, and previously held a Canada CIFAR AI Chair in Montréal at Mila -- the Québec AI Institute.
