About
Ben Bloomberg is a Grammy-nominated creative technologist and engineer who works on everything from electro-acoustic instruments to interactive and immersive performance systems. He earned his PhD at the MIT Media Lab in 2020 under Tod Machover, researching human-machine collaboration in live performance and serving as live audio mixer and designer for Machover’s Death and the Powers and Schoenberg in Hollywood, and for his six City Symphonies. As Jacob Collier's longtime collaborator, he developed the signature Harmoniser and other technology behind Collier’s groundbreaking one-man-show, and he subsequently earned Album of the Year nominations for his mixing and engineering Collier’s on Djesse Vol. 3 and Djesse Vol. 4. Ben is passionate about finding human-centric experiences even when technology is abundant and predominant. In doing this he strives to interweave creative, technical, social, and logistical aspects of production, all necessary to craft compelling musical experiences for the present day and beyond.
