About

Bill Spera has been performing in the Boston area for more than 30 years. Favorite shows and roles include Juan Peron in Evita, the Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors, Sheriff Dodd in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Paul in Company, Harry Easter in Street Scene, and Padre Perez in Man of La Mancha. He has been performing cabaret regularly with his pal Katie Connor at Club Cafe for the past 13 years, and in addition, Bill sings and solos with the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus, including last summer on the Symphony Hall stage when he performed as Ursula from The Little Mermaid for their Disney Pride concert. He was a winner of the Audience Favorite Award at the New England Fringe Festival for his original cabaret show 45 in 40. He studied voice with faculty from the University of Illinois and the New England Conservatory of Music and acting with Jeannie Lindheim in Boston. He’d like to thank his lifelong friends Anne-Marie Gorman Doyle—for her ongoing encouragement—and Scott Calcagno—for his humor and inspiring acting coaching. He dedicates this performance (and all performances) to his husband, Joe, for the love and support he’s continually provided over the past 27 years.
