La Marisoul

Born in DTLA (downtown LA), the diverse and vibrant heart of Los Angeles. She grew up part-time in Mexico and the United States, which created a duality of American pop culture and traditional folk music roots that helped shape her musical sensibility. 

In 2007, La Marisoul became the lead singer of the group La Santa Cecilia (named after the patron saint of musicians). La Santa Cecilia has performed in almost every type of venue, from rock clubs to festivals in the United States and Mexico. In 2014, La Santa Cecilia won the Grammy for Best Latin Rock Album for their album ‘Treinta Días’ (Universal Music). In 2017, they were nominated in the same category for their album ‘Buenaventura’ (Universal Music) and in 2018 for ‘Amar Y Vivir’ (Universal Music). Marisoul also performs solo and has made appearances as an actress in The Bridge (2013), Artbound Presents: Studio A (2013), and Mavericks (2015).

She appeared as a guest artist on Pepe Aguilar's MTV Unplugged, which turned out to be the first Unplugged by a ranchero artist. In 2022, with La Santa Cecilia, she received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Cumbia - Vallenato Album for “Quiero Verte Feliz” (2021). She has been invited to participate in tribute concerts such as “Chavela Vargas y sus Mujeres” in Mexico City and various cities in Mexico alongside other artists such as Ximena Sariñana, Eugenia León, and Ely Guerra.

En 2007, La Marisoul se convirtió en la vocalista del grupo La Santa Cecilia (en honor a la Patrona de los músicos). La Santa Cecilia ha actuado en casi todo tipo de locales, desde clubes de rock hasta festivales en Estados Unidos y México. En 2014 La Santa Cecilia ganó el Grammy al Mejor Álbum de Rock Latino por su álbum 'Treinta Días' (Universal Music).
