Margaret King

About
Margaret (Maggie) King is a Senior at Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, MA. She has been a member of “Singers”, an honors mixed choral ensemble at Wachusett Regional High School, for four years. Margaret King has portrayed various roles in musical theater productions, including leading roles as Delilah in Between The Lines and Kim McAfee in Bye Bye Birdie. She has been a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra's Children's Choir, the New England Conservatory Youth Chorale, and participated in the Boston Conservatory at Berklee Summer Vocal-Choral Intensive. She also attended the Pre-College Music Program at Carnegie Mellon University, where she performed staged opera scenes including “Ah perdona al primo affetto” from La Clemenza di Tito by Mozart and “Sull’aria” from Le nozze di Figaro by Mozart.
Margaret has received several awards for her singing, including First Place in the American Soloist International Music Competition and First Place in the NATS New England Regional Vocal Competition. In 2024, Margaret was awarded the All-State Singer Award from Classical Singer Magazine High School Competition. On several occasions, Margaret has represented Wachusett Regional High School as a member of the Massachusetts Music Educators’ Association All-State Festival Chorus and Central MA Senior District Chorus. This April, she will perform as a member of the National Association for Music Educators All-Eastern Honors Mixed Chorus. Margaret is the recipient of the 2025 Music Scholarship for Undergraduate Study sponsored by the Massachusetts Chapter - General Federation of Women's Clubs.
Margaret has been a longtime voice student of soprano Jane Shivick. In the fall of 2025, Margaret will continue her classical voice training at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University as a Music Performance Voice major.
