Samuel Andonian

Originally from Greater Boston, Armenian American violinist Samuel Andonian joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the start of the 2025-26 season. Andonian has been a soloist with orchestras including the Boston Pops Orchestra, New York Classical Players, and Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, and has performed in recital at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. As a chamber musician, Andonian has participated in the Marlboro Music Festival, NEC’s Honors Chamber Music program, the Perlman Music Program, Kneisel Hall, and Norfolk Chamber Music Festivals, and has performed with artists including Jonathan Biss, Kim Kashkashian, and members of the Cleveland, Juilliard, and Brentano string quartets. Andonian is on faculty at the NEC Preparatory School, and has taught previously at the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, and the Kaufman Music Center’s Lucy Moses School. A graduate of the New England Conservatory and the Juilliard School, he is pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts at the CUNY Graduate Center. His principal teachers include Donald Weilerstein, Catherine Cho, John Holland, and Mark Steinberg.
