About

Jason Horowitz has been a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra since 2006. There he has participated in many international tours, major recording projects, and chamber music concerts exploring repertoire from Saint-Saëns and Janáček to Piazzolla and Revueltas.
His formative influences were Philipp Naegele, Louis Krasner, and Christoph Poppen. He has enjoyed an international career as orchestral musician, chamber musician and soloist, including performing the Stravinsky violin concerto nearly 20 times over two seasons with the Boston Ballet, set to choreography of Balanchine. American composer David Jones completed a concerto for him and the NEC wind ensemble in 2021. He has taught orchestral repertoire at New England Conservatory since 2006. His students are now in many major orchestras in the U.S. and Europe.
